The children at Acorn House were involved in a cultural day, based on Oceania. The children were divided into mixed age groups from Years 1-6 and took part in various activities connected to Oceania throughout the morning. During the art lab activity, the children were split into smaller groups and asked to work as a team and helping each other throughout the activity to create an Aboriginal inspired painting using the same technique that they use. There were 5 Australia animals, a kangaroo, lizard, turtle, snake, and an Emu. The children used the flat round part of the pencil and some coloured paint to create the dot work which built up the colour and design of the animal painting. All the children took part and contributed to over 10,000 dots. Good work and well done. You can see the original artwork outside the office.
