School is a community. A place where everyone can thrive, be safe and, ultimately, be happy. A place we can all explore. A place we can come to, knowing that once we leave, we will leave that little bit different than before. We leave knowing we have learned something. We leave knowing we have grown. We leave knowing that we have become better, whether or not it is our pencil grip, or our essay writing; our colouring, or our presentation skills; our learning, or our teaching. Everyday, we strive to achieve great things; to build a new generation of brighter people; a future we can all look forward to.
Our school is at the very heart of that.
Here are a few quotes about school from children in Primary…
Massimo, 7 Years old:
La scuola per me è un posto dove imparo le cose. (For me, school is a place where we learn things.)
Antonella, 6 Years old:
Per me la scuola è un posto dove si impara, dove sono felice come fossi a casa mia.
(For me, school is a place where we learn things, where I am happy as if I were home.)
Teo, 6 years old:
La scuola è dove si studiano cose interessanti.
(School is a place where you learn interesting facts.)
Sofi P :school means a place where you learn with other people and having fun.
Greta: for me, school is a place where you learn new things that you didn’t know with friends.
Gaia: a place to learn something you don’t know, make friends and have fun.
Viola: a place to learn and become friends with the others and the teachers.
Pietro: a place I like, the thing I like most is learning.
Sofi C: a place where you have the opportunity to make new friends and learn things that you didn’t know.
Andrea Neri: school is somewhere big and beautiful to learn
Vittoria Turchi: school is somewhere to make lots of friends
Java Zaine school: School is somewhere to learn to respect rules and to learn to be kind to friends
Whatever school is to you, know that it is cherished by so many. It is, without doubt, the most important place in any childhood. It brings stability to grounds that are shaky; relief to emotions that are strained; education to the future generation.
We should all be thankful we can give something back to our future.
